A girls gotta do what she needs to do to survive. This world was cruel, in order to survive you needed to be cruel right back at it.



Tough little cookie, that's what they used to call me. That was until I punched them in the faces. I was always that sort of girl, the tough one that even the big bullies were scared of.

When Lexa was young her mother died, so she ended up being raised by her father. Her father was in army so they moved around a bit, to whatever base he would be stationed at. She learned more about the government and the world with each station that her and her father would move to and with each promotion her father would get. A few times she even thought she saw demons locked up on the bases, but she figured it was just in her mind. She finally learned the truth when her father was stationed in New York. The base he was on was some a research facility for demons. The government would capture demons and run test on them, even neuter them.

For some reason I loved the thrill of haunting these demons, I almost had this sort of feeling that I was meant for it. Of course that was just me thinking crazy, at least that's what I thought at the time.
Lexa eventually fell for one of the guys that worked on her father’s base, Todd. He was usually one of the soldiers that was sent on the field work, him and his team would go out and capture the demons. Lexa started tagging along and to her surprise she loved the work. Mainly it was the rush she got whenever she fought a demon. Eventually her father got a promotion at the New York base, a promotion which meant a permanent position at that base, no more moving around. The thought of never having to move again should’ve been a good thing, but Lexa caught Todd cheating on her. She couldn’t stay there anymore, not with having to see him everyday so she took off.

Of course I had these huge ideas of grandeur where I would be able to fight demons and somehow make a living at it. Didn't work out that way. I started to slip into a different kind of life, one that worked.
Lexa planned to be some sort of hero. She wanted to go out there and fight the demons, but of course fighting demons and saving people doesn't pay the bills. That's when she started to become a sort of bounty haunter. Demons, humans or whatever could hire her to do whatever they needed to be done just as long as the price was right. The only thing that she wouldn’t do was kill another human being, unless of course they were some sort of murder or evil somehow. She was willing to get whatever for her clients, even items that could end up killing many or causing the end of the world. She figured that the end of the world might not be such a bad idea. But she mostly knew that whenever demons tired to end the world it never happened so she wasn’t so worried about that.

Although with some of the stuff I got for my clients I probably did cause a few or a lot of innocent deaths. But a girls gotta do what she needs to do to survive. This world was cruel and you need to be cruel right back at it to survive.
In 2003 a very powerful witch, Willow, cast a spell that imbued all potential slayers on Earth with Slayer powers. That was when Lexa found out that she was one of the potential slayers. She now understood why she enjoyed haunting demons so much. She also needs to learn how to deal with this new power and figure out what she is going to do with her life. If she will embrace the idea of being a slayer and join others like her or continue her lonely life being a bounty hunter.
